But it is one thing to know what the jobs with the best salary growth are, and another to know how to get them. Here is a list of the jobs, along with the education and work experience most employers would require from an applicant.

  2. Business operations specialist is a broad term that applies to many different fields and has duties that vary depending on the industry, but usually applies to those that oversee all business aspects of the company. It has a salary growth rate of 7.4 percent and an average salary of $38, 648.

  6. More and more large companies are recognizing the importance of their workers' mental health and are employing psychologists. Industrial and organizational psychologists apply psychological practices to improve productivity and quality of life in the workplace. It has a salary growth of 6.4 percent and an average salary of $106,844.

    To become a psychologist requires a master's or doctorate degree.

  7. Protective service manager
  8. Protective service managers monitor security staff that protect homes and businesses. It may also require investigating crimes against clients and taking a proactive approach to protecting clients from theft and other crimes. It has a salary growth rate of 6.4 percent and an average salary of $75,848.

    The job usually requires a high school degree and several years of experience in the security field, but can be approached from having experience in several other related fields such as law enforcement, military emergency response or conflict management.

  10. Agents and business managers have an average salary growth rate of 5.8 percent and an average salary of $113,771.

    So, those wanting to improve their salary might be best off sticking with their current job and working for a promotion to management as opposed to taking another job that might pay better but not provide the same opportunities for movement into management.

    Most management positions require at least a bachelor's degree and three to five years of work experience.
