The search for a missing woman is over after a jet ski accident on Lake Allatoona.

The body was recovered by the dive team around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in about 15 ft. of water near the accident scene at the Shoal Creek and Lake Altoona intersection.

The body is being taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab.

Investigators said the accident happened Tuesday night at a spot near Knox Bridge Road in Cherokee County.

According to investigators, the jet ski was carrying two males and a female when it hit a tree under the water. The 23-year-old woman, who was not identified, was thrown into the water.

Authorities said the driver was hospitalized with head injuries and the second man was treated at the scene and released.
