FOREST PARK, Ga. -- A Forest Park mother was shot during a break-in at her family’s apartment Friday morning.

According to police, three men broke into the apartment on Barton Drive around 1 a.m.

Investigators said the husband, wife and two children tried to lock themselves in a bedroom but failed.

One of the intruders shot the woman in the abdomen and wrist. She was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

The other family members were not hurt, police said.

Police said they believe the men left the scene in a grey Dodge Charger.
