TAYLOR COUNTY, Ga. -- On Monday GBI and Taylor County officials arrested 35-year-old Eric Riley for the murder of a Snellville man.

Riley was charged with concealing a death and tampering with evidence, both felonies, in connection with the death of 22-year-old Lashon Lee Douglas, Jr. of Snellville, Ga.

Douglas’ body was found by a resident in a dumpster in on Highway 127 in Butler, which is in Taylor County, on March 18, 2009.

Investigators learned Riley was an associate of Douglas and had contact with Douglas the weekend prior to the discovery of the body.

Riley was arrested after investigators served a search warrant at his residence.

No cause of death has been determined at this time.

Upon receiving the final autopsy results, the results will be reviewed to determine if additional criminal charges will be filed against Riley.

Riley is currently being held at the Taylor County Jail.
