ATLANTA -- The boil water advisory for Buckhead was lifted at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, officials announced.Residents and businesses in north Atlanta, including the Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza malls, had to boil water Tuesday and Wednesday after a power outage at the Northside Pumping Station.12,000 robo-calls went out, but thousands more heard nothing.Several business owners said they're angry because they weren't told about the boil water advisory. Restaurant owner Marcello Rizza learned about the advisory from CBS Atlanta's Jennifer Mayerle."If you hadn't come in and told me this, I wouldn't have known," Rizza said.Rizza had to toss out prepared salad, which he said cost him money."Thanks to the water department right now, we're losing money. The economy is already down and now we have to suffer the consequences (of the advisory)," Rizza said. The owner of the nearby Gallery Cafe said she wasn't informed either."I just wish there was a way they could contact us. We were drinking the water too, everybody was drinking the water," she said."Information is key and I don't understand with all the tax dollars we pay in the city of Atlanta why we cannot do something to notify the public," said cafe customer Kim Lape.Officials said the advisory was a precaution to prevent anyone from getting sick from potential bacterial contamination.CBS Atlanta tried to speak with Watershed Commissioner Rob Hunter and Mayor Shirley Franklin, but they would not speak with us.
