A developer looking for a controversial $52 million tax break will have to wait to find out if it will get what some call a bailout.

DeKalb County's Economic Development Authority tabled a vote Thursday on whether to grant Sembler Company the tax break.

Sembler is building "Town Brookhaven," a community on Peachtree Road that will include homes and businesses.

Sembler officials said lenders turned their backs when the bottom fell out of the real estate market, leaving the company short on the cash.

Officials said the company will have to downsize its plans if it doesn't get a tax break.

The board may vote on the plan in a few months.
