TUCKER, Ga. -- Police located the driver of a Ford Mustang that investigators said was involved in a deadly street race that ended with a crash on Interstate 285 in DeKalb County on Tuesday night.The driver was not identified. He went to the police station Wednesday after hearing the news.According to police, two people were killed and two others were sent to the hospital as a result of the crash in the northbound lanes near LaVista Road.The driver and the passenger of a red Corvette died after crashing while trying to race the Mustang, police said. The driver was identified as Brandon Phillips, 20, and the passenger was identified as Jordan Makanani, 18.The sister of the 18-year-old passenger in the corvette can't believe she would have let them race.“I honestly think my sister would have been telling him to stop, slow down, quit doing this,” said Kyley Makanani. “Who’s to say that if they were racing she did say stop he would have listened to her.”Jodan Makanani just graduated from Heritage High School. She was accepted to Georgia State and planned to start in the fall.“Everybody is just in shock. I'm trying to stay strong for my mom and dad and for my little brother because I know he's just out of it,” said Kyley Makanani.Kyley Makanani said she was telling her younger sister what to expect in college.“These last couple of years we got really close and now it's just like she can't use any of that information. I'm just still in shock to think about what's going on honestly,” said Kyley Makanani.The Corvette hit a Lexus sport utility vehicle. The driver of the SUV has been released from the hospital. The passenger is still in critical condition.Police said no charges have been filed and they are still trying to determine if the Corvette and Mustang were racing.
