Hosea Feed the Hungry

Now a year-round human service organization, Hosea Feed The Hungry & Homeless organization, founded by civil rights icons Dr. Hosea and Mrs. Juanita T Williams, hosted its first dinner serving 100 meals in Atlanta in 1971 at Wheat Street Baptist Church.

The 2005 - 2006 programs include:
  • The HFTH Homeless Prevention program, providing rent and utility assistance; a temporary housing program for homeless families
  • Partners in Collaboration providing food and supplies to 45 human service organizations
  • The Bread Of Life Food Bank; Outreach programs distributing food and supplies to 16 Atlanta area homeless camps and senior citizens; and this year 6,000 Hurricane Katrina and Rita survivors received phone and gift cards, food boxes, clothing and toiletries while 30 families received apartment placement and financial grants paying three months rent.
