NCAA Game Summary - Santa Clara At Georgia

Athens, GA -- (Sports Network) - Despite shooting 3-of-10 from the field, Terrance Woodbury managed to score a game-high 14 points and help lift the Georgia Bulldogs to a 54-48 win over the Santa Clara Broncos in the consolation round of the NIT Season Tip-Off at Stegeman Coliseum. Albert Jackson chipped in with 12 points for the Bulldogs (4-1), while Trey Thompkins came off the bench to tally 10 points and five blocks. John Bryant paced Santa Clara (1-3) with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, while Michael Santos finished with 10 points in a losing effort. Georgia was able to grab a 24-19 halftime lead after holding the Broncos to 7- of-25 shooting from the floor in the opening half. Santa Clara warmed up by shooting 52.6 percent in the second stanza, while Georgia made just six field goals (35.3 percent) over the final 20 minutes. However, Georgia was able to hold on thanks to a 17-6 scoring edge at the foul line in the second half. Santa Clara committed 25 turnovers in the game, which led to a 22-6 advantage for Georgia in points off turnovers.
